Eligibility
For B.Tech (Marine Engineering), B.Sc. (Nautical Science), and Diploma in Nautical Science(DNS):

A Minimum 60% average of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

50% or above in English in 10th or 12th qualifying exam.

For Graduate in Marine Engineering(GME)

For Electro-Technical Officer (ETO)

You must have secured 55% marks aggregately in your Engineering degree with minimum 50% marks in the English language at 10th or 12th or in qualifying degree Exam.
Medical Requirement

Medical Fitness: For admission to DG, Shipping approved marine courses, the candidates are required to produce medical fitness certificates by authorities approved by the Director-General of Shipping.

Eyesight: Candidates are not allowed to wear glasses and their vision should be 6/6 (normal) in each eye separately.
B.Tech. (Marine Engineering) / Graduate in Marine Engineering (GME) / Electro-Technical Officer (ETO)

Spectacles are allowed in this case, but if the eyesight in each is beyond +/- 2.5, the candidature will be rejected. Preferred vision must be 6/12 minimum in both the eyes or 6/9 in the good eye and minimum 6/12 in the other eye.

Applicants must be medically fit that includes eyesight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000. Medical test to be carried out by DG shipping approved doctor only.
Note: IMU-CET is mandatory if a student is applying for B.E Marine Engineering, BSc Nautical Science or DNS Course.
Selection Process

K.C. Mahindra Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies Abroad
Eligibility

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)
Eligibility
XI standard to 1st year of any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences namely B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology having an aptitude for scientific research.
Special groups / Committees are set up at IISc to screen the applications and conduct an aptitude test at various centres in the country. Based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students are called for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure. For receiving a fellowship, both aptitude test and interview marks are considered.

The Aditya Birla Scholarships cover a large part of academic fees as well as the hostel fees for the IITs / BITs stream and some part of the tuition fee for the management and law streams.

J. N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be Indian nationals who are graduates of a recognised Indian University and have secured at least 60% in their last academic examination.

Candidates who are at the beginning of the second year of their overseas studies (fall 2020 – spring 2021) are also eligible to apply. This is applicable only of the minimum duration, of course, is 2 years.

Candidates in the final year of the degree course and those awaiting results are eligible to apply.
-
Scholars who have already awarded the J N Tata Endowment loan scholarship cannot apply again for the same course.
-
Candidates may apply even if they do not have the admission/offer letters at the time of making the application, from the Universities to which they have applied for the academic year 2020-2021.
-
However, they must update the status of their application with the Endowment once they secure admission. Candidates not older than 45 years as on 30th June 2020, with a good academic record and experience in their fields, specialisation or training may also apply.

Candidates going overseas for seminars, conferences and undergraduate studies are not eligible for the J. N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship.
Features
The J. N. Tata Endowment awards a one-time loan scholarship to Indian nationals at the beginning of their academic year for full-time Postgraduate/Ph.D./Postdoctoral studies/Research Fellowshipsabroad, in all fields, irrespective of caste, creed, gender or community. The amount to be awarded to each scholar by way of loan scholarship is determined on the basis of the norms laid down for the purpose and does not cover the full cost of studies. The amount awarded as the loan scholarship ranges between Rs.1,00,000/- and Rs.10,00,000/-. All selected scholars do not necessarily qualify for the maximum amount.
The selected scholars may also be recommended for a gift scholarship based on their overseas academic performance and partial travel assistance from our allied Trusts as may be decided at the sole discretion of the Trustees of the concerned Trusts. A gift scholarship can be for a maximum amount of Rs.7,50,000/- and the partial travel grant can be a maximum of Rs.50,000/-.
INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education
Eligibility (Any of the following)
1. Students have to be among the top 1% in 12th standard at their respective Board Examinations, state or central. The average cut off marks for the same is derived on the basis of the top 1% criterion of each state board.
2. Students who are within the 10000 ranks in Joint Entrance Examination of IIT and top 20000 ranks in AIEEE. Further, those clearing CBSE NEET but opting to study Natural Sciences are eligible.
3. Students admitted to Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) at the University of Mumbai or happen to be Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars and Olympiad Medalists, opting to undertake courses in Natural leading to B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees.

INSPIRE Fellowship
Eligibility

e-Medhabruti Scholarship
Eligibility
i. The student must be a permanent resident of Odisha state.
ii. The income of the parents of the students from all sources should not exceed Rs.6.00 lakh Per annum.
iii. The Student must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the examination for different categories of merit as mentioned against each.

Dr A P J Abdul Kalam IGNITE Awards
Eligibility
Students from any educational board can participate in Dr APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE competition. The children, who are out of school, up to the age of 17 years can also participate.

There is no fixed number of awards. It will depend upon the number of quality entries that we receive and which can be recognised in the function.

There will be an exhibition of ONLY the awarded projects/ideas/innovations. Working or illustrative models and/or posters would be required for the same.

NIF will provide to and fro train travel support to the student(s) and only one person accompanying the student(s) from the student's home location to Ahmedabad. Local hospitality will be provided by NIF in Ahmedabad.

Features
The rate of scholarship is Rs. 10,000/- per annum at Graduation level for the first three years of College and University courses and Rs. 20,000/- per annum at Postgraduate level. Students pursuing professional courses are paid Rs. 20,000/- per annum in the 4th and 5th year.
AGA Khan Foundation Scholarship
Geographic Scope
-
The Foundation accepts applications from nationals of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique.
-
In France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada, applications are accepted from those who are originally from one of the above-developing countries, are interested in development-related studies and who have no other means of financing their education.
Residency Requirement
The Foundation only accepts applications of eligible nationals listed above who are residing in one of the countries where there are local Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), Aga Khan Education Services (AKES), or Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) offices which process applications and interview candidates.
Age Limit
Preference is given to students under 30 years of age.
Note: For the 2020-21 application cycle, the Foundation will not accept applications from students planning to attend universities in UK, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, The Netherlands, Italy, Norway and Ireland.
Features

The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses only. The cost of travel is not included in AKF scholarships. Funding for PhD programmes is only provided for the first two years of study, after which the students are expected to find alternative sources of assistance.

Financial assistance is provided according to the needs of students, but the ISP must be considered a lender of last resort. Applicants are requested to make every effort to obtain funding from other sources as well so that the amount requested from the Foundation can be reduced to a minimum. Preference is given to those who have been able to secure some funding from alternative sources.
Loan Conditions
Half of the scholarship amount is considered as a loan, which must be reimbursed with an annual service charge of 5%. A guarantor is required to co-sign the loan agreement. The payback period is five years, starting six months after the study period funded by the Aga Khan Foundation.
