What is TOEFL?
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a computer-based standardized test. It is designed and administered by the Education Test Service ( ETS) and aims to assess a candidate's proficiency in English and determine his or her ability to perform well in a program in which the language of instruction is English.
Why TOEFL?

A high TOEFL score increases a student's chances of enrolling in a chosen university.

TOEFL exam dates vary from place to place, but about 50 dates are set each year. TOEFL scores are accepted by more than 10,000 institutes from countries like Canada, the United States, Australia, and the U.K., and Europe and Asia.

The various authorized testing centres across the country are designated by the conducting authorities and test-takers can choose the centre as per their feasibility.

Apart from securing admittance in the universities, TOEFL scores are also required for scholarships, Visa, certification, and immigration.
Types of TOEFL tests
There are two types of TOEFL tests, TOEFL IBT and TOEFL PBT

TOEFL IBT is an internet-based online test. The purpose of the TOEFL - IBT exam is to assess the ability to listen, read, write and listen.

TOEFL PBT, on the other hand, is a Paper Delivered Test that is offered for the same purpose. Internet access in places where internet access is not available. The speech skills are not tested due to the lack of a technological system for registering responses.

What is the validity of TOEFL scores?
TOEFL scores are valid only for 2 years.
Note: The scores earned in September 2018 can be reported until August 30, 2020
