What are the jobs and responsibilities?

• Help develop systems, understand traditional marketing and product development principles and manage human resources.

• Run health centres, educational institutions and other facilities, helping them with their health care, education and other needs.

• Design and implement methods to provide them with the know-how - how to manage the production of micro-enterprises. Micro Organisations are typically household organisations in the rural sector. It is necessary to understand the problems, the culture, the ethos and the needs of development.

• Management of rural resources, be it land, water, electricity, land use, infrastructure, education and so on.

• Plan and implement rural development programmes. Find ways to make the best use of rural resources and explore rural livelihoods and identify areas where the system needs to be intervened and improved.

• Decide which problems should be addressed by non-governmental organisations and plan to set up cooperatives or intervene by the government.

• Identify projects, raise the necessary funds, and plan how development efforts can be sustained and expanded.

• Prepare and carry out social cost-benefit analyses and monitor the progress of projects.

• Set up micro-organisations in the rural sector that are needed for rural development. It will assess the proposals to set up these organisations and help them obtain the necessary funding. Helping them understand the nuances of finance, marketing and production are often required.

• Work with other organisations dealing with the rural sector in different areas. As companies, they can work in cooperatives that manufacture products and raise funds to run these organizations. They will set up and run these businesses, thereby supporting rural development processes. In cooperation with the government, it works in the fields of health, education, health care, agriculture, social welfare and social security.

What is the Scope of rural management in India?

• Much of the funding is channelled to non-governmental organisations by countries such as America and the UK. There are many institutions and projects financed by the Houses of Rural Development, and this funding will complement development work in the region.

• Other opportunities for rural management professionals exist in research institutes, but there are equal opportunities for all. This gives the company certain brand value and additional mileage as well as the opportunity for professional development in rural areas.

• India has nearly 4,000 management schools that produce more than 300,000 graduates each year, but the country has few niche schools that focus on the rural sector. According to the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM), the agricultural management school produces fewer than 1,500 rural managers.

• This small number is surprising given the country's large rural population and the importance of the agricultural sector to its economy. The rural economy accounts for around 50% of India's gross domestic product (GDP) and almost half of total employment.

• Rural India's GDP has grown at an annual rate of 6.2% over the past decade, compared to 4.2% in urban areas. It is also the second-largest source of new manufacturing jobs in the world after China, and Bharat has trumped India in spending per mile. In the last decade, far more new factories have been built, with rural India accounting for 75% of all new manufacturing jobs.

• According to a report, Indians spend $69 billion annually in rural areas, compared to $55 billion in large cities. Rural India is the country with the potential to create up to 1.5 million new jobs annually. This potential can only be realised if Bharat and India merge, he says.

• Many students choose rural management courses because they want to learn and demonstrate their skills to ensure that the performance of the rural sector is improved.
