• Paint technology is a course of study that deals with the various ingredients used in the production of lacquers, raisins, polymers and pigments.

• A holistic approach is needed to understand the ingredients involved in the process of paint production. It examines the production processes of paint as well as the techniques used in the application of the inks.

What are the jobs and responsibilities of a Paint Technologist?

• It is a highly specialized profession that requires practice and skill, and they work most frequently in production. Many of them are working to create tailor-made paint jobs for customers, whether they are painting new cars or repairing old or damaged cars.

• Cars and other products often need to be painted to make them corrosion resistant and create a smooth, even surface. Painters have often been exposed to toxic chemicals in paint and exhaust fumes in the past, but modern health and safety regulations have done much to reduce the risks.

• Before they can paint, technicians must prepare the surface to be painted, and painters wear masks and other protective equipment. Painters must also work in a cabin that minimizes their exposure to toxins.

• When working with metal, technicians may have to immerse themselves in a surface that is painted by a chemical bath, grind imperfections and clean the surface so that dust and dirt trapped in the paint can ruin the finished surface.

• Technicians also control temperature, humidity and other factors that determine how the paint dries. Spray painting is done with spray guns or other machinery, and technicians use painting techniques such as dipping and spraying.

• They dismantle and assemble their painting systems and other tasks include painting, and spray painting.

• They also have to disassemble and reassemble their painting equipment.
