The coaching industry in India has evolved significantly over the years. At present, the key trends in the coaching sector include focusing on interpersonal skills, technological advancement for an agile environment, and more emphasis on demonstrating measurable results.
With teaching in the school segment expected to grow from US$ 8 billion in 2011 to US$ 26 billion by 2020, there lies a large and fast-growing market for coaching and tutoring services imparted through innovative means, mainly the internet according to the India Brand Equity Foundation report 2019.
Furthermore, the continuous increase in demand for engineering and medical as an occupation has augmented the number of students choosing coaching centres for entrance test preparation.
Also, enrolments are increasing day by day in all major coaching centers as students have chosen to start preparing as early as class 8th or even earlier for engineering and medical entrance exams. The number of aspirants preparing in engineering for JEE main is approximately 13 lakh and for NEET exams is approximately 16 lakhs.
Increased number of children in coaching classes:
Nowadays, another factor contributing to rising in children attending coaching classes is that most of the parents are working and find it difficult to help and assist their child at a consistent speed.
To make the education and learning process unhindered in this Pandemic situation, VMC has introduced an online mode of delivery through live classes with help from their best and experienced faculty members with a vast teaching experience ranging between 15 to 20 years and who produce excellent results.
The content and knowledge shared are unique and advanced as VMC focuses on quality of delivery.
Current challenges in the coaching centre industry are that many of the EdTech companies have young college students for imparting knowledge and the quality of content is not abundant for the young aspirants. Furthermore, these college students are neither able to produce or showcase strong results.
Blended mode of studies:
The online mode of education is going to open new avenues for both the learners as well as the coaching institutes. The various courses offered by the Coaching institutes through the online modules, the webinars, test series, etc undoubtedly prove that they in the education space for the long run.
Therefore, it becomes imperative that the higher authorities provide the approval to the coaching institutes which would create further opportunities for the centres and the learners.
In the end, we can safely say that the future years will offer a blended model of offline and online courses in the coaching institutes which shall furthermore generate more facilities for them and the much-needed attention they require. This intermingling of online and offline gives credibility to the fact that the process of imparting education should go on despite all hindrances.
