What Do Veterinarians do?

The course deals with surgery and handling of animal live-stocks.

Besides performing surgery, you need to take care of animals and advise regarding medicine and vaccination.

Specialize in large animals such as livestock or small animals such as pets. The approach in treatment varies according to different animals.
So how to become a Veterinarian?

Well, you need Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) after 12th to enrol in a B.V.Sc course. The next step is to appear in the respective entrance exams for your state and all India. You will be allotted a university accordingly. You will appear for NEET exam to secure seats under 15% all India quota/85% state quota to various colleges. Your chances lie in what marks you score in the 300-550 range & the state you belong to.

It is difficult to determine which college suits your aptitude. Previously, admission into Vet Science was conducted through AIPVT. However, now NEET exam is the entrance through which you get access to 15% of all India seats.
