Fishery science is a multifaceted and extensive field of study largely aquaculture including breeding, genetics, biotechnology, nutrition, farming, diagnosis of diseases in fishes, other aquatic resources, and the medical treatment of aquatic animals.

The Fish industry also includes fish curing, canning, freezing, value addition, byproducts of fish and their waste utilization, quality assurance and certification, and fisheries microbiology.

Who is eligible?
The degree in Fisheries Science is a science degree, you must have studied science with biology to class 12. The selection process for admission in various universities/colleges is either through university-level exam (CUSAT) or state level entrance examination. Students can also apply for ICAR.
